self-taught, no lessons

Lol jk there were lots of lessons.

Six years ago, I took an online Skillshare class on modern calligraphy. After graduating with a Fine Arts degree and a concentration in Print-Making (and a handful of student loans), that little online class ended up changing the trajectory of my life faster than a hot knife through butter. For the last five years, I’ve been in the stationery and invitation design business and have learned way more about the wedding industry than I ever thought I would. (All that knowledge would’ve been real useful when I got married in 2012, but c’est la vie). I am eager to share that knowledge with my brides, and hopefully make this one, tiny part of the whole planning a little less stressful.

My immersion into the invitation business was prompted by my love for hand-lettering; a love I never thought would turn into an actual occupation. So here’s to all my elementary school friends who commissioned a thousand signs and illustrations of their names: y’all made me who I am today and I wouldn’t be here without you! I feel very lucky to have a passion bring me income, and we’ll see where it goes in the next five years.

One other thing to know about me: my hair changes constantly and I’ve given up on updating my social media every time it does.
